Awake all night again, looked outside around eight this morning and everything was white over again, outside temp’ a chilly minus 5F….
Got my first proper gas and electricity bills for this place on saturday lunchtime…. not nice, gas is the worse one with it being gas central heating and water heating, I could do with a soak in the bath but now not sure I can afford the luxury, time to make some cutbacks I guess, no more treats, no more booze…..
Things are looking up with the birds, seems to be getting a lot busier recently with the continuing cold weather, taking a que from Daffy I’ve listed the ‘visitors’…..
Robins – x2
Great Tits – Numerous
Long Tailed Tits – x4+
Coal Tits – Numerous
Blue Tits – x4-6 usually
Green Finches – Numerous
Wrens – x2
Assorted Sparrows – Numerous
Dunnocks – X1 or 2…. Hard to tell as they hide so well !
Wood Pigeons – Numerous fat ones…. LOL
Collared Doves – x6+
Blackbirds – Numerous
Thrush – x1 so far, good for getting rid of snails!!
Starlings – Numerous…. noisy, greedy little buggers!
Crows – Were numerous until I stopped using ‘tray’ feeders
No doubt there’s some I’ve missed but thats the list of regular sightings!
Time to make a coffee and go chat to the lovely Dee on msn messenger…..
SeeYa…….

Everybody seems to have snow except us! Not that I want any though…
Another good birdie haul I see, I didn’t do any birdwatching this weekend because I was too busy noticing the inside of our toilet bowl unfortunately, but now I’m well again I will keep an eye out for any interesting things in flight from now on to make up for it!

Thanks for the comments folks (including Josh but I don’t allow commercial links!), it gets very busy first light then again mid afternoon on the bird feeders, good fun standing in the kitchen watching them……

You did really well! What a brilliant show!
I must say I did enjoy it this year, even the boring bits.
You never got these lovely sights at the last place did you. I love that you get to see them now as you so obviously enjoy their company.

Hi Flighty, I put the feeders on a bit of spare clothes line on purpose so I’d have a good view from the kitchen window, seems to have paid off….
Now now me little () Canadian sexpot, ‘tits’ as in the feathered variety and well you know it….
.
Hello Daffy, I agree, its nice to help out the little things because the rewards are so great!
I used to get even more at the old place, including a woodpecker, that all ended when they commandeered the garden to build an expensive bloody bungalow!
.
And you are special so just live with the fact…. XXX
